Repairs & Upgrades Begin Soon;
Special Thanks to Member Dean Curry!
Repairs and upgrades will soon begin on the Willow Bungalow (former Manse). This will enable us to put the house on the rental market to bring in additional income.
A special thanks to church member Dean Curry for donation of his valuable time as a professional home inspector to inspect the Willow Bungalow to determine which specific areas of the house needed repairs and cosmetic or structural improvement. Thank you, Dean! We appreciate your service to the Lord and HPPC!
Another top priority is to get the elevator in working order, making all other tasks much easier in getting ready for the ESTEAM/Apollo Summer Camps.
Architect proposals are being reviewed, and planning has begun. Under the guidance of our Owner’s Representative, InVision, we will have: a code & compliance review; architectural drawings completed; fire suppression review and upgrade; new upstairs water fountain; upstairs rest rooms updated; upstairs A/C repair/upgrade; ceiling tiles replaced; other minor repairs and cleaning. The repair and painting of the steeple is also included.
Please be patient for any inconvenience that these repairs may cause … the results will be worth it! |

Get the Scoop on Sunday’s Message
and Why is Everything Purple?
CLICK HERE for Rev. John’s glimpse at Mar. 10th on the Hyde Park Presbyterian Facebook page.
Rev. John Hougen, Interim Pastor at HPPC, explains the sacrament of the Lord’s Supper to children on March 3rd, and is wearing a purple stole. Note that the cloth on the communion table, Bible bookmark and banner on the pulpit are also purple instead of ordinary green.
Why? Because purple is the liturgical color used from Ash Wednesday through the first five weeks of Lent. On Good Friday, the church is stripped bare, and on Easter Sunday, white will be used. The colors white and gold symbolize days and seasons of joy and mark pivotal events in the life of Christ. Hallelujah! |
